http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Country_for_Old_Men_(film) can tell you a lot about this film.It was really good but kind of left me hanging in the end.since I'd have prefered another ending. Kelly Macdonald played Carla Jean Moss who was Llewelyn Moss' wife..The movie doesn't let you know if the hitman Anton Chigurh killed her or not. I'd really of liked to see her shoot Anton Chigurh between the eyes since Carla said she knew he was coming in her final scene. That dude Chigurh needed to die. ;-)

I really liked this movie. And I hate to break bad news to you, but when Chigurh leaves the house, he checks the bottom of his shoes. Why would he do that? I can only think of one reason.

He really was a genuinely scary guy, completely indifferent to human life.

In a way it was nice to see a movie that acknowledged the existence of evil and didn't try to make excuses for it. His backstory is never explained, no attempt is made to make you understand or sympathize with him. He just IS.

...yes the sociopath IS. However, there is a generally true cause: Prenatal and early childhood abuse and neglect. The CNN interview with the' Iceman ' is an interesting look into the makeup of this type person. I also found it interesting whom he didn't kill: it would appear to have been those whom he didn't scare. Chirgurh also struck me as asexual as opposed to androgynous. I went with my sister and amazed her with how easy it was to mimic Chigurh-all you have to do is be mocking and oppositional to whatever anybody says--then steer the conversation in a grim direction. Chigurh was as mono dimensional as he was monstrous.

I was disturbed by the movie in a similar way bog...I guess i like clean endings...perhaps this is a post modern film--yet The dream at the end cited by Tommy Lee Jones I found strangely compelling. A great movie.

I'm wondering if there will be another movie in the future regarding this story line. I think it would be profitable.

I was about to say I doubt it because the Coen brothers don't do sequels, but it seems to me that I heard something about another "O Brother Where Art Thou" movie, so who knows.

I still think they'll let this one stand on its own.

I don't think it will happen, because I don't think he's really a person. I think he's a symbol for something.

Think about how the people in the movie interact. Does anyone really have a relationship with him? Does anyone even interact with him, except for him to decide whether to kill them or not? Even the boys, who he does not harm in any obvious way, you can see that they come away from that corrupted. He pays them money to be quiet, and I think they leave arguing over who should get to keep it.

You're probably right but didn't they have sequels to THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE and HALLOWEEN? I don't think many folks related much on a personal level with Leatherface or Michael Myers ;-).

Yeah that was totally cool. I don't think it could ever work... maybe if you fired slugs with it?

That is amazing. I wouldn't have thought that was possible. (And from reading the article it sounds like it wasn't until recently.)
