Somebody forgot to check the oil

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
Well, there's a very simple answer.
Nobody bothered to check the oil.

We just didn't know we were getting low.

The reason for that is purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in:
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Wyoming
~~~
Utah
~~~
K a nsas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
and
Texas
~~~
Our dipsticks are located in DC

Any Questions?
Elephant Ear Wash.

For the last 2 months my hearing ability has been decreasing in my right ear .I'd had ear wax removed from my right ear a few years ago and I thought it was building up again.I'd been trying home remedy's but nothing would solve the problem.My ear was actually getting uncomfortable as well as being deaf. I finally scheduled a doctor's appointment.

My doctor looked in my ear and simply stated ,"there's a lot of debris in your ear".He assigned a nurse to me who came in with an interesting piece of equipment. She began squirting warm water in my ear with it.I was embarassed because of the amount of wax appearing in the receptacle I was holding under my right ear. It was pretty gross. She laughed and said,"I've seen a lot worse than this!" Anyway after she'd used the entire bottle she asked me if I could hear any better.I said only a little and that my ear felt like it was still full of water.She got the doctor who looked again and said,"There's still a LOT of DEBRIS up in your ear ca...

As some of you may be aware I was on vacation recently .I rented a 3 bedroom cabin in the Kiamichi mountains for my family.The first night I went to bed around 11:00 pm.My 16 year old son came into my wife and myself's room some time during the night.He was excited and stated,"I need to talk to you about something weird!"He also said something had scared him or something similar to this.. I was very sleepy when he burst in and I just said, "I'll talk to you tommorow morning about it." He tried to insist but I just told him it could wait.

I woke up first the next morning and he was sleeping on the sofa in the living room..I just thought to myself,"KIDS!!!" Anyway when we were eating breakfast I asked him why he had burst in to my room the night before ? My son then said,"I was asleep and something woke me up getting into my bed.I thought it was you or mom." He said that when he looked to his side in his double bed there was an indentation but nobody was there.He then said he thoug...

Jay Leno Quote

:

'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

Comments made back in 1955.

They thought they had it bad then:
Comments made in the year 1955:

"I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $20."

"Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $2000 will only buy a used one."

" If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. A quarter a pack is ridiculous."

"Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging a dime just to mail a letter?"

"If they raise the minimum wage to $1, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store."?

"When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 29 cents a gallon.
American Gangster

I'd read about Frank Lucas prior to watching this movie. I watched a documentary on the history channel regarding him also. Lucas had no redeeming qualities imho. In the documentary he stated he didn't regret anything he ever did. I think the movie portrayed him in to positive a light for my tastes..It was a good movie nevertheless.. The good cop got the ultimate bad guy in the end but nothing changed since there are always criminals waiting in line to become the next criminal kingpin.
My son watched the movie with me. He wants to know if I'd turn a million dollars in to the legal authorities like officer Richie did if I ever found this much money. I told him that after watching "No Country For Old Men" that I'd certainly give this option a lot more consideration.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Country_for_Old_Men_(film) can tell you a lot about this film.It was really good but kind of left me hanging in the end.since I'd have prefered another ending. Kelly Macdonald played Carla Jean Moss who was Llewelyn Moss' wife..The movie doesn't let you know if the hitman Anton Chigurh killed her or not. I'd really of liked to see her shoot Anton Chigurh between the eyes since Carla said she knew he was coming in her final scene.That dude Chigurh needed to die.

KHARTOUM

I watched this film recently on TV. A lot of movies with Charlton Heston have played recently since his death. I hadn't watched it for at least 30 years. One scene in this movie was really good. It's where Gordon was in the Mahdi's camp speaking to him in person.Gordon was a religious man who had always sought to work within God's will in his military career.He came to a realization after speaking to the Mahdi that they were very similar since each was seeking to follow the will of god even though they were in opposition to each other. It was pretty good imho.

The events portrayed in this scene never actually occured since Gordon and the Mahdi never actually met but it was still thought provoking. Mankind has been dealing with this same dilemna for centuries.I think this old movie is well worth watching.

STRESS TEST

STRESS

I am not sure exactly how this works, but this is amazingly accurate.

The picture below has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on stress levels at the Mayo Clinic and later at Fletcher Medical Center
in Burlington

Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical.
A closely monitored, scientific study revealed that, in spite of the fact
that the dolphins are identical, a person under stress will find many
differences between the two dolphins.

The more differences a person finds, the more stress that person is
experiencing.

Look at the photograph and if you find more than one or two differences you
may need to take a vacation.

I liked this quote I received in a email today

"Each man must act as he thinks best: and ,if he is wrong, so much the worse for him. We stand on a mountain pass in the midst of whirling snow and blinding mist, through which we get glimpses now and then of paths which may be deceptive. If we stand still we shall be frozen to death. If we take the wrong road we shall be dashed to pieces. We do not certainly know whether there is any right one. What must we do? "Be strong and of good courage." Act for the best, hope for the best, and take what comes."- William James
</S>
<FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #fffffe" face=Arial color=#0f0f0f size=2 PTSIZE="10" < I></S>

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD

This is a good one showing how we all have our own interpretations of things.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

DR. PHIL:

The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on 'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on
his 'CURRENT' problems before adding 'NEW' problems.

OPRAH:

Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the r...
